myHERObag was started by two Marine Wives, who were looking for a fun and stylish project, while their husbands were on their second deployment in Iraq. As will happen, the two founders ended up re-stationed to opposite sides of the country. Not long afterwards, Meredith Chenault was hired to work for the operations in Arizona (which became the sole point of creation of all myHERObags) and took over as Production Manager. After another move, the remaining owner realized the business was taking her away from her family too much, and she made the difficult but appropriate decision to put her family first and close down myHERObag.
Meredith, having not made the last move with the company, soon learned the company had closed, and contacted the previous owner to see what she could do. Two months after myHERObag closed, Meredith bought the company and as of September 2007 is reopening myHERObag, both online and through Design Specialist located throughout the world. We'll be offering more customizable options as well as new styles, all handcrafted in the United States.
